Finally Official Exedy Info, Including Prices!
Finally Official Exedy Info, Including Prices!
Okay, just got off the phone with *** Imports who I think pretty much handles EXEDY here in the US. Customer Service is freaking awesome!
Here is the brakedown:
The clutch is rated 425-450hp AT THE WHEELS!!! It is the same clutch that is in the Time Attack Cobalts as well as the Grand Am Cup Series cars! EXEDY made too many so they have like a dozen extras that can be sold right now through *** for $1232.
If you wait till the end of the month the price will be $1,150 because that is when they will actually start to be in production! It is a Hyper Single 6 puck clutch with the flywheel. EVERYTHING you need is included.
This stuff is without a doubt track proven. The Time Attack Cobalts are still on their first one...all I can say is I'm sold!

Yeah it may seem expensive but with it coming with a new pressure plate and a flywheel it is worth it. It is being abused all the time by the Grand Am Cup cars...I won't doubt it's durability and the guy told me there are absolutely no problems on installs.
CM had problems because the pressure plate is too heavy I heard. EXEDY uses our stock pressure plates but changes them a little bit to work with everything else.

WSFrasier posted this a few days ago. I think they only make single and twin disc clutches for our cars. Also their stage 3 was rated for pretty low torque numbers and their stage 4 was an unsprung disc. There was a pdf file included that I'll see if I can find with specs that WSFrasier got a hold of.
Edit: Heres the thread, current info starts at post #24: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/exedy-clutch-26554/

So is this gonna be another clutch that plays hell with the stock clutch hydralics . Did the time of attack cobalt not have to switch to a c5 vette master cylinder ?
Holding any judgement or comment until I see a sucessfull install :shrugs:
