Unhappy Intense Stage 3 Boost Issue

Hey guys, new to the forum and drive an 06 SS/SC G85

Just barely put on the intense stage 3 kit, am happy with it, I hung right with my buddy's stock 06 Sti however,

I just read in the stickied Intense Stage 3 walkthrough in this forum that the guy was getting 17psi out of the upgrade.....WTH

My best psi is the line between 10 and 15 so lets call it 12.5, this is after my kit has been installed. I did try to do a forum search but I really couldn't find anything.

I do live in Salt Lake, I'm not sure why elevation might have anything to do with such low psi but hey, I'm out of ideas.

My question is, what would keep my car from hitting that boost? My kit was with the 2.9" pulley, 42.5# injectors, and new pcm, other than the kit all i've done is replace the stock muffler with a magna flow muffler, all stock piping. Maybe I'm just retarded and the guy has a 2.8" pulley but does 1 tenth really make 5 more pounds of boost????????

Any help would be very much appreciated.

The boost bypass is disabled already by intenses pcm, how much boost did you get when you were stock?

Damn 12.5 for stage 3 isnt right. You should be at 14.5 or 15 psi.

Yeah the boost bypass didn't help whatsoever, in fact I felt a little bogged (probably my imagination)

Regardless I will email scott tomorrow, hopefully we can remedy this ailement, I sure would like to beat my buddy with a car I'm 10k less into.

Oh and btw, don't power shift into 2nd with a stock clutch and the stage 3 kit.....goodbye clutch.

When I was stock the best psi i got was 10 and typically after the sun went down. So the gain I saw was correct, I picked up 2.5 boost, but I want 15 now that I know everyone is getting it with the kit...

yodair8.....We should call each other....I have intense Stage 4 and only see 16 psi!! I should be 19-23 PSI. There are 2 other people that are having the same issues as us. Boost bypass didn't seem to do a damn thing. My buddy with GM Stage 2 w2.8" pulls on me. This is driving me nuts. I e-mailed Scott, Todd and Tim. We have all run out of ideas. So I accepted the fact that this is all I'm going to get.

Don't tell me that, that will ruin my night, well if it is just something i'm going to have to accept i'm sure I can pick up more power through cams or whatnot.....

I really hope this is something I can fix.

your belt may be slippin after you hit a certain rpm or may just need a new belt or smaller one. a buddy of mine had the same prob and he did those things and got it goin better

No it doesn't feel like the belt is slipping at all, if I was going high then backing down I'd understand the belt was slipping. It's tight as it needs to be. I emailed Scott at intense and he blamed it on my elevation. Salt Lake City....I'm okay with that explanation. I just have to do more to get the power I guess...

Hey! For whatever reason 3rd gear WOT above 5k rpm got me to 14.5 today in about 60 degree weather.

Maybe there was a break in period for some reason.....loosen up the supercharger I dunno. 14.5 though!

Elevation does have some to do with it. I see 12.5 at WOT to about 5000, then it climbs up to 15 once I get above 6000. That is in 75 degree weather with 50% or less humidity. If it is over 80 and/or humid I am usually about 1 to 2 psi lower.
