Cam install i wouldnt say is easy, you might want to invest in retainers, vavlves, and springs also, if not installed correctly, it could really harm your car, and you will get a cel with them, that can be disabled with hp tuners, i would search more on it, and make sure you want to drop the amount of money on it to do it right.

i know GM has there own set of performance cams and from what they said all warrenties would still apply. ya wasnt sure if there would be more to it then just a cam installation. but still would like to see if someone has it done

well if they told you that then they probably dont know what they are talking about

the reason why they only offer the gm stage 2, header, and exaust is because they cover it under warranty

all other parts you get are special order parts and are NOT covered under warranty

Cobalt Addiction stage 6 a good buy? Hmmm, the fact that they dont know how to read injector duty cycle scares me. I'd rather have someone tuning my car vs someone experimenting with it. Flame all you want guys, that fact of the matter is that p&id owns them. But its your car, not mines.

if you add cams you be alot safer if you did the valvetrain as well, but it's not cheap and the valve train is your most work intensive item for sure

Has anybody installed cams yet? If so what kind of power increase did you get and did you have any problems getting the car to run right?

What's the breakdown of the Stage 6 kit? In the "Sandbox" the computers we have here are blocked from almost everything!

So GM Performance parts aren't covered under warranty huh? Wrong.

I think he was referring to the Cobalts original powertrain and bumper to bumper warranty. Not the actual warranty of the performance parts that are installed.

Well anyway... I"ve been running they're stage 5 (2.55 60lbers meth kit, heat exchanger) with no problems now for about two months (only broke axles damnnit) they tuned my car and it runs great... stays with a safe afr (11.8-12.2) I get no KR so I don't see a problem... I'll be doing ported head, cams and valvetrain soon too... so I'll let you know

GMPP cams will probably only work on the 2.2L as the 2.0 has a different sensor setup on the exhaust cam, similar to why the Comps wont work.

Instead of everyone telling you how easy they think it might be, go ahead and read about it here:

http://manual.lsjowners.com/

Check out 300hp ECOTEC build #1-4. Its actually building up of a LSJ and a complete how to, with part numbers of the products they use and what companies make them.

What a dumb comment man! So if I go to www.crateenginedepot.com and buy the 10.0:1 piston set for our car which is a GM part, they will cover my warranty in full?

You are wrong...you might want to see what all parts are out there before saying unthought comments!

If you want cams you will probably have to buy some from www.gravantuning.com.

They have Comp Stage 3 cams, which is what was used in the build of the link I posted and the only GM cams you can buy for the ECOTEC are the blanks so you will have to get the bored to certain specs.

I'm not 100% on this but I believe that is a mislisted part as the numbers they list are the same for the 2.2L and they would not fit. I have yet to find a different part number for the 2.2L and 2.0L ecotecs from Comp cams. Somewhere I read using two intake cams might work though, lol.
