Revisitng the red rings - or shall I say - rear fog lights?

A while back there was a thread about the red rings around the reverse lights. Upon further inspection and a month of thinking I have concured I can make them into rear fog lights with a bit of work. There is no seperator between the white and the red lense, making everything come on when you put your Cobalt in reverse.

This presents the biggest problem. I will, or someone will, have to create a seperator that can be reproduced. Homemade job will work at first. Next, some LEDs or white bulbs around the red rings in both lights, wire that, switched somewhere, to the battery/dash.

What do you guys think? Anyone else down for the project?

Naw, it's just a courtesy to those driving behind ya that don't have fog lights

Not a bad idea to have those, though, in case some idiot is riding your ass at night. Flip them on and blind them, then maybe they'll back off...

LOL I was thinking the same thing. Having fog lights on the back would be pretty useless

I think a better term would be "running lights", and from what you've described, I think they would look pretty hot

Let us know what you come up with, I'd like to see some pics of the finished product.

I'm going to take a closer look tomorrow. My Alfa has rear fog lights as does my neighbors Audi and my friends 3-series bimmer. Basically they are just really bright rear light(s).

I think it will be a cool thing to see, although I think you would need to relocate or account for the rear reflectors...as I believe you would be replacing those...but I think it would look badass as just the running lights...
