Black plastic piece on SS

I've just now noticed a black plastic piece underneath the radiator and it's kind of slanted down at an angle towards the front. Is this supposed to be like that to push more air up into the engine or did it come lose from somewhere? I'm at work right now so I didn't really get down and dirty looking underneath or anything.

You know, I noticed that the other day too and I was wondering the same thing. Any ideas?

i think it's a wind breaker, it pushes air away from the underbody of the car

It's a scrape guard.

If you're talking about what I think you are, that's the wind deflector. It deflects air into the engine. Removing this plastic piece will cause the engine to overheat.

Can someone take a picture because I may be thinking of something different.

I think that's exactly what it is. I just really haven't noticed it til today. It looks like it just deflects the wind up into the engine compartment in order to keep it cooler.

It is a air dam to push air up and over the A/C Condenser, Intercooler and Radiator. Newer cars really need these due to grilles being really small or no grille at all.
