Random Complaint

I just got my sunburst orange Cobalt Wednesday and I love it. I have one minor complaint though and was wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I love that I can control so many things from my steering wheel. My problem is that I can't turn off my high beams from the steering wheel. I can turn them on just fine, but when I want to turn them off, I actually have to take my hand off the steering wheel and reach for the lever. That sucks! Also, consequently, I can't turn the turn signals on (without taking my hand off the wheel) when I'm using my high beams. Granted, I'm a little girl and I know most of the people on this site are guys who probably haven't even dreamed of this, but...I just had to ask...anyone else having this prob?

I don't know of any car that has high beam controls on the steering wheel. 99% of the time you're not even supposed to use your high beams unless you want to signal something to another driver.

just get some hid's or something to that nature, and you wont need your highbeams anymore

I couldn't really tell ya either way if it's a problem or not. I'm a girl too, I just don't pay attention to the high beam switch, if I have to take one hand off of the steering wheel I do it, usually though I can reach it (barely) with my left hand on the steering wheel...probably because my other hand is on the shifter most of the time so taking the other hand off the wheel would be a bad idea.

The only issue I had was the way I'm used to hitting the turn signals, I kept putting the high beams on every time I wanted to turn right. I'm really not used to pushing the lever FORWARD for high beams, but I'm adjusting, now I only occasionally blind people when I signal a right turn.

Well I live way out in the country so high beams are a must for seeing deer 'n things like that. I'm not complaining that the switch isn't on the steering wheel (I don't know of any vehicles that have that), I'm just complaining that when you switch them on, it moves such a big distance from the wheel, so far that I can't reach it.
My last car had high beams that worked the exact same way ('cept I could reach them)...I never had probs accidently turning on the turn signals, but for some reason I keep doing that in the Cobalt too...maybe it's just more sensitive or something? *shrugs*

I did notice that it's a stretch to turn off the highbeams. I can still do it from the wheel but it is an akward position. In my old Cavy it was in a very nice place and this is just something to get used to. I can imagine if you have smaller hands it would be much harder.
