I like those yellow calipers! From the pic in the dark, the fuel door looks good man!

+1 for taking pics of it during the day, it will do your work more justice.

Ebay my friend there is a guy who sells just CF fuel doors, i asked if he can do one for our car and he said yeah. so he put up an auction with buy it now. after i did he said give me a few days to have it made. it only took like 3 days before it was shipped. it looks like pretty good quality to me. i paid $85 free shipping.

That looks damn good.
I was thinking about getting one for my car. Its pretty much a new gas door, rite?
Which seller did you get that from off of eBay? I'd like to see if he would be willing to make another one.

yeah, it comes with a whole new hinge and everything. i went to autozone and bought 2 bolts and nuts to put the new one on. you have to drill out the stock one so obviously the rivvets get destroyed. the sellers name is karbonkoncepts. it took me about 2 hours, but only cause the first drill bits i had were cheap and snapped so i got pissed and went inside for a while. then went back to autozone and got me a titanium bit set. that worked and the job finished easily. you also have to take the piece of plastic off that goes around the fuel cap. but thats really easy, just 2 star bolts that i was able to undo with a regular flathead.

I think it looks okay on a black car. I had one on my silver G6 and it really looked out of place, although all the other carbon fiber looked great on it. As long as you like it, then that;s what matters. I think it's cool, and I didn't even know there was one out there for the cobalt yet.

Ok here's a question. Is it actually lighter then the stock fuel door? and How much lighter is your hood compaired to a stock hood? My friend replaced his hood on his 03 WRX with a CF version and it was heavier then the stock one. - granted WRX's are made with a tin foil body.

thanks, they are Sacchi S45 245. pretty cheap too, i like them. i paid $640 for all 4 and just used the stock tires. they are 7.5" wide rather than the stock 7" but the tires still fit.

im not sure the exact weight of it, but the description says 15lbs lighter than stock for the hood. the fuel door i have no idea, probably almost nothing. not worth buying if youre doing it for weight reduction, mainly for looks

In most cases, it would depend if the product is actually a carbon fiber mold, or if it is an overlay. People who use CF for show will overlay stock parts in CF, thus not reducing weight. I know on my cavalier, the stock hood weighed 40+ pounds and a full CF hood weighed a whoppin' 7 pounds. I cant see the pics(work blockage), but i love the idea of a CF fuel door if the car has numerous CF parts.

Thats cool a 33 pound weight reduction to bad cavy's are a pain to tune lol. I got a 96 2.2 cavy as my winter beater (first car) lol. It's been good for the $2600 I paid for it almost 4 years ago.
