Question Oil consumption

so, I've done nearly 1,000 in a week and a half. Man I love my SS/SC, but I thought I'd check the oil and it needed a half a quart! What have you SS/SC owners seen with oil consumption????

keep in mind just cus it doesn't get to the MAX on the dip stick doesn't mean that you need to fill it to that point. in fact you should try to avoid putting too much oil in the car and just try to keep the level in the middle above min and below max. while we all know too little can be bad most don't know that too much can also be bad. Your car was fine the way it was before you added oil.

How many miles since you last oil change? It could be taht you actually have six quarts in your oil system I't sjsut a half quart is sticking around eslewhere in the engine. Like in the oil filter.

The cars are known to burn alittle bit of oil - it is because of the design of the oil jets. Also, make sure you don't check your oil till the car has been sitting for 10 - 15 minutes due to the fact the oil has to make its way back to the pan from both the top of the motor and from the oil cooler.

As Onimirage says, don't put oil in unless it is at the MIN mark, being in the middle is still acceptable and the car should not necessarily be on the MAX mark.
