The guy at pepboys told me that an air filter other than one from the dealer would not be available until February. He said it had something to do with the carmakers being able to hold the parts for 2 years because of patents or something like that. One from the dealer only costs me $11 so that’s not too bad.

As for the oil filter. I just got mine at pepboys.

The guy must have been a complete moron because they carry the Fram version.

Having compared the Napa Gold filter next to the Fram version, I will never use the Fram version again though.

I have yet to see the AC Delco oil filter in stores. But like mentioned earlier, Advance and Pep Boys have the Purolator (regular and Pure One).

Other than the Purolators, I haven't seen any other brands, anywhere.

I got the oil filters from GMpartsdirect . I bought 10 of them at once. With the shipping they were like under $6 a piece. That was about a year ago so may be more now.

I work for PepBoys and we do carry the Purolator and the Pure One filters. As far as the air filters go we dont carry them yet. I just got a drop in K&N on-line for around $32 with free shipping.

Best way to save money on filters is buy them in bulk! You know you are going to use them, just a matter of when...and on the upside, you will always have one.
