just get the regular pulley put on by the dealer and then switch it yourself, it takes about 10 minutes.

100% agree.

You guys have to understand that swapping pullies isn't really the way to go for big gains. Heat is going to be your #1 enemy regardless of your aftercooler.

Understand why GM made a kit with a Reflash, Pulley & Injectors specifically. They did it for a reason.

There is alot of things you need to understand before you go and touch a relatively brand new car.

No guys i think you misunderstood...i dont know all about exact parts and all but i know what makes an engine go...I bought my stg 2 from Fred Bean and when it came it was in a box about 14in long or so..i opened it and the injectors were in a box and the belt was just laying on top....the pulley is in another regular cardboard box this is about 4x4...its only tapped, I was seeing if i could just neatly open that box and exhange the 3.0 one with a 2.8 and then tap it back up like nothing was done..Then when i get to the dealer for the installation they wouldnt think anything was different... i was asking if that was a good idea or not cos i have no experience changing one my self

The reason I say is cos i really have not idea on pulley installation...do you need those special tools or is there something similar i could use in my garage...I didnt know it onl took 10mins cos ive never done it...but thank you im sorry i misinterpreted what i was trying to say...any help would be nice

well to change the gm stage 2 pulley ring you take the belt off keeping track of it far as the way it was ran, then you take the tools it comes with, then your unscrew the bolt and take the ring off the hub and put the pulleyboyz 2.8 gm bolt pattern on, put the screws in and then put the belt back on and bam your done and ready enjoy more power its pretty easy to do even a monkey couldn't screw up swaping the ring out.

i was wondering the same thing. i remember a thread that some company made a 2.8 pulley that had the same markings as the gm stage 2 setup. thought of switching them out like you are thinking.

let me know if you get away with it!

It says on their site "These have been proven to run great on the GM stage 2 reflash as it is very rich fuel wise to start with and this will bring you right into the correct AFR. Will bump you up to 17.5psi" How ture is this has anyone actually used this pully on the stage 2 reflash and monitered the AFR? IF so what AFR does it run at? Before and after the pully install.

So if i get this right, I can order a 2.8inch pulley and install it myself in 10 minutes, thought u needed a puller to take the hub off?? correct me if i am wrong because I never changed a pulley myself. So you guys sa that basically I can puta 2.8 inch pulley with my gmpp stage 2 and have 0 issues such as engin light, overload on the injectors and such....

The pulley in the stg 2 is a modular pulley system, 4 allen bolts and the smaller ring just bolts up to it, there is no need to change the hub, the hub is the hard part, but if the dealer puts it on, then a 10 min job to change out the 3.0 ring with the 2.8 ring.

http://www.cobalt-addiction.com/performance.htm

the little thing in the bottom of the pic is the hub, all of the other things change onto the hub on the car, the hub stays, the rings can change.

Oh so just to make sure iam getting this right, the 4 allenkeys hold the pulley on the hub, so I can buy a smaller pulley without changing the hub if i have a gmpp stage2? And if thats is correct, where can i get a pulley like that ?? 2.8inch*
