Boost bypass with Stage 2 and 2.8???????

I have ordered the GM Stage 2 Kit, NGK BKR7E Plugs (gapping to 0.040) as well as a Pulley Boys 2.8" Pulley, I currently have an AEM intake and the boost bypass mod. My question is whether I need to keep my boost bypass mod after the upgrade? If I keep it, will it affect the drivabilty of the car? Will I notice any loss in power if I put it back to factory settings? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I havn't had any drivabilty issues with the Intake and the bypass mod to date. Help me understand why this is not a good setup? I have heard of many members that have the same setup and things seem to work well. Should I put the bypass back to the way it was before i install the stage 2 with 2.8???

As far as my understanding of the bypass mod, it stops the ecm from bleeding off extra boost at high rpm. (Is this right?)

In any case, when I dynoed It made no difference with my S2 & 2.8.

Don't waste your time bro. That is the most pointless "mod" ever.

Please someone show me a dyno showing that this boost bypass "mod" works.

It's very pointless bro, don't even bother. Seriously.

Thats what I thought. Never has my boost bled off at high rpm. I could see it over boosting in first but who wants that? Thats one of those questions you don't have to answer...

Exactly, boost does not bleed off at high rpms I don't even know where this crap came from. This came out back when there were no mods for our cars and people had the itch.

Exactly, it might have worked with a pulley and nothing else but not with the gm tune/hpt. My dyno showed no gain when I did it.

PS: Ive also heard that for the 05's it works but not the 06's, I think it's all bull but whatever. I have an 06.

Yeah the 05' and 06' thing is fake too. I have an 05' and I don't bleed any boost ever.

I think this is the funniest thing to ever hit the .net community.

Fake boost bypass mod FTW!

how can i get my sheet on here. i will show you one where it didn't work.

i dynoed 1 or 2 hp less, and my airfuel was /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ the entire run with the bypass mod.

I have the stage 2 and 2.9 and get 16.1 or so in high rpms WOT. no need for the boost bypass.

my boost stock was 13+ and it would bleed to 12 at high rpms. But with the bypass mod I showed no + change in HP on the dyno.

Exactly my point. I usually stay out of the bypass mod conversations but it's time to put this to an end.

Same as mine. I dynoed 3-4 hp less with bypass.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I will just put it back to the way it was, i haven't really noticed the difference anyways. I am getting excited for the mods to be installed next week, hope that the money was worth it, from the feedback i have heard it seems evryone has been happy with the gains. Just hope I can pull a buddies Turbo D16 Civic running 8lbs, hes been talking some trash, hopefully he will be in for a wakeup call. I appreciate the help
