stage I vs stage II

i was justing looking at the website and it says stage I boost you up to 236 hp and stage II boost you up to 241. thats only a 5hp diff. so, to me it sounds like it would be better to just do stage I and add stage II when you just have leftover cash? thats just what im getting out of it. im thinking of getting just stage I and a cai (i want to hear that s/c!)

Sure it may only be a couple horse power, but you get a lot of torque out of it, and torque is what wins the races

hmm, this is like the millionth thread on this......

Options:
1.) stage 1 (warranty retained)
2.) stage 2 (warranty retained)
3.) stage 1 w/INTENSE or ZZP mps and a 2.8"/2.9" (no warranty-technically)
4.) stage 2 w/PB 2.8" (no warrant-technically)
5.) any other aftermarket stage kit.... (no warranty-technically)

Couple exhaust and CAI with the above, and have a pretty decent amount of power...

How much cash do you have? Is your dealer a wanker about warranty and aftermarket ****, or do you know someone who works there, and doesn't care? Decide how much power you are looking to make, and how much cash you have to blow.

If you want to step up power over any of the above listed modifications, consider 60lb injectors, HPTuners, and then H/E, axles, clutch, etc.....

Go ahead and get stage 2, not only is it slightly cheaper to buy the kits together, it also includes the "stage 2 hub" that allows for extremely easy pulley swaps.

If your going to dump alot of money into your balt, the hub will be a life saver.

Yea, then tack on the additional costs of axles, clutch, and heat exchanger. Also might as well get an exhaust at this point too. Custom tune, or dyno tuning would also be IMO, requirement. Don't foget a wideband, and other engine monitoring gauges....

You'd be better off getting HPTuners, then all the other stage 5 parts, plus everything else I've mentioned....

Or, find yourself a Kenne Bell S/C, make adapter plates, get 60lb injectors, HPTuners, axles, and a clutch, pistons, head studs, and a comtec (sp) gasket. Then you'd have the most ideal setup.... Along with exhaust, H/E, etc....

It may seem like alot, but once you get serious you'll slowly get all of that anyways. I'm ordering axles and clutch soon, and already have an order in for a heat exchanger.

Very true, but many just like to skip all of the supporting modifications, and go for all the power they can...

I just like to keep things in perspective for people.

For those of you who don't know, cds00bsmg brings up a very very good point. You can have an engine capable of 600 hp all day long. But if you don't have the supporting mods, chances are your 1/4 time is gonna depend on how fast you can push your car to the finish line (unless you can get someone to tow it there)
