help ordering a cobalt ss!

So i am needing opinions on this; i am going to be ordering a 2007 2.4 cobalt ss with roof and bags with an msrp of about 19700, my local family dealer gave me a 'deal" at 19200, and to compare this price i checked another dealership which resulted in the same price. Is this the actual price everybody is getting? or is it really lower? It seems like the cobaltss has risen a thousand dollars within the last couple months! any help would be great, thanks.

a lot of it depends on where you live. If thats the best price you can get then go for it, but know that the "good" price they offer you isn't the lowest they can go.

edit: BTW i bought my ss/sc as a program vehicle for $17,975 with g85 and sunroof. They started at 20,000, went down to 19,500,then down to 18,400 or 18,600, and finally I talked him down to 17,975, so thats 2 grand off what they wanted, and 500-1000 off the sweet "deal" he was gonna give me. Of course you are dealing with a brand new car but still i bet you can talk him down.

go to edmunds.com look up new car incentives get the real deal, other then that just be str8 up with the dealer tell them you want to see the invoice then add 1250 Cause the dealership needs that to keep the lights on PERIOD, anything above that is commision or more money for the dealers ship talk to fleet manager and ask for invoice work up from there not down from msrp cause invoice is what they paid for it NOT market SUGESTED retail price

when i was looking at cobalt SS's, the best price i found on a N/S SS with nothing special on it was still over $20,000.
i dont know how dealerships work but i would think that they dont HAVE to show you the invoice since that is their business, not yours. i could definitely be wrong. ill have to ask my buddy at chevy.

ok i just check it and it gave me an invoice of 17,980 and an msrp of 19720 with a difference (profit) of 1,740. with the 'deal" i was told i would be getting it for a profit of 1,220. should i try to go lower, becasue i tried to talk him down the last time i was in there and he said there isnt much of a mark up on these cars and this is what he could do for us. here is my invoice resource http://www.car.com/content/research/...Action/Options
also, what do you all think will be in the next 'incentives" period? becsue i think this might be my option to take as well; order the car now and have it come in right when the new incentives start on 1/2/07. thanks for the replys!

well first yes delerships SHOULD show you there invoice if not there is something shaddy, its no secrect about the invoices trust me they dont mind showing IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, please read read and then go in, why dealers give so many incentives for the end of the year is beacuse they have to pay taxes on the cars the 06 models for example if they have them on the lot past november something, its all money check this link out this is what dealerships wont tell you keep looking around

hi all, first post.

Just got my 07 ss 2.4 2weeks ago today. 5sp. only option is a roof and no bags. Sticker was 19300. Wife works at dealer which gives employees 100 over invoice price so our's ended up at 17,7something. I'm not sure off hand how much the side bags add but if they came down to 19200 for you you're already below my sticker without bags.

I ordered at 2007 SS/SC with no sunroof, no G85, etc, and I'm getting it in the higher 18,000 range.

alright, heres how it went..... I finally ordered it after 2.5 years of wanting one. I walked in and said 19,200 was too high soo he recalculated it at 18,999, but then he readjusted it for 'market value" or some bull ****. either way i am expecting it to be in around the end of december early january, by then there SHOULD be an incentive or some sort of holiday sale... ohhh well if i didnt get the best deal, the point is I finally got this thing going after trying to find the right one for a year. thanks for the support! I will definitly post HIGH quality pictures (canon rebel xt) of my new car when it comes in! later.
