Taking apart the front bowtie

How the hell do you do it. to me it seems jsut sticky tape but ive eben at it with a hair dryer and it has yet to even come close to pulling apart. any help would be great!

Whoa there MP5...lol...we're not all engineers!

From what I've seen, it's held on there by a few bolts. It's a tight squeeze back there though. I know a lot have taken it off already. You may need to take the radiator shroud off first though. I haven't taken a close enough look yet.

no i have it off the car i need to take the center gold peice off to paint it.

There are two 10mm plastic bolts holding it on! If you take off the body pins holding the top radiator cover off, then you have plenty of room to get to the bolts... just don't over-tighten them or they will break!

mk, what does the car look like without the front? i want to take both the front and back off but i want to see how the front looks first. if i dont take them off i will probably just paint them both...maybe color matched so they arent so obvious

If you take it off there are two bolt holes... and there is a little higher and lower part to compensate for the top and bottom of the bowtie... there are a couple with the "SS"s in the front grill....

WOW reading > ALL of you!!!!! i said I HAVE it off the car I need to get the GOLD part off the silver trim to paint it. Ive taken many bowties off the car before im not that n00bish.

i know i cant ape it did that for mine, but i knows theres a way to take off the gold part since people have replaced the gold with CF by removing it.

I'm pretty sure the bowtie is held together by glue/3m. Use more heat and fishing line.

i did mine in cf... dont get why your having so much troubble...... u dont even need to heat it up, just pry the 2 pieces apart
