GMPP intake install

Just purchased the GMPP intake for my 2.2

I wanted to install this myself. But after reading LewiSS's thread for installing it, I flinched a tiny bit. I've never dealt with installing an intake before.

The dealer wants $300 for labor! So...that's out of the picture, easily...

Anyone have an idea of what it would normally cost to have this installed? Or anyone have any tips for noobs w/ intakes?

I know there's a first time for everything, so I plan to do this myself. If you don't have any tips or advice, a prayer might help...lol.

Couldn't be anymore in depth than the INJEN Cold Air where you need to take off the wheel and wheel well and what not. I'd say give it a try, its not hard.

Yeah, I know, but I have that fear of jacking up a brand-new car. Don't forget, I'm still a noob.

All you need to do is read and follow the instructions. If you happen to put the clamps in the wrong place, just take it apart and start over. I took mine apart twice, and I am a "professional" (Instructions? who needs instructions!). Make sure the filter is turned down or it will hit the hood, you will know what I mean when you do it.
It's a perfect "noob" project, you don't need many tools and if you read the directions first you should have no problem.
Go for it man!

these guys couldn't be more right. Its a very good Do-it yourself project to get u involved with your car. Go out there and give it a try. I see in your mod list that you installed a deck as well. This is way simpler then that! by a long shot

the intake is easy. I didn't know anything about installing an intake on my 2.0 and I did it out of excitement. then when I was done I was like whoa! this bitch screams! And I was like wow just out of pure excitement I installed something I don't think I would have usually installed on my own.

I haven't put it in my car yet because I haven't had too much time lately. I'm actually working right now. But I did take some time to go over some of the instructions and piece the parts together. And hopefully, this weekend, I'll have it done. When it comes to things on my car, I want to make sure I take the time to do it right...

So far, it's UNBELIEVABLY easy. It was the thought of doing something to my car that I've never done before that kinda scared me.
I sound like a car virgin...
