help with manual info
can anyone please help??? i need to find where it states that my vehical has 2 shift lights. one - economy - the second - hard shift (performance light) i need to prove that i was shifting my car the way explained with the performance light.
please - i need all and any info about this!!! im going infront of the GM rep. monday morning!!! INFO ASAP!

2.0s don't have shift lights, so I dunno from experience in my own car but my friend has a 2.2 manual ION and I've never seen more than one shift light.
Also if you're consistently shifting at or just before redline, good luck getting them to fix tranny problems under warranty. That's going to definitely qualify as abuse.

The only defense against that you MIGHT have is that you accidentally forgot to shift and the light came back on, so you assumed that was a second shift point. The manual doesn't say otherwise, it just talks about the shift light (2500), not the dummy light.

Check a junk yard for transmissions, that'd probably be your best bet. Search eBay too. You never know what pops up there.
well i found one for 650.00 with 20,000 miles on it. its a close match im getting it thursday. is there any thing i should do to it before the install other than inspecting it for cracks and making sure theres fluid in it.
well i got my new used trans it has only 10081 miles on it when it was slamed in the rear i got a 90 day warenty with it . so tomorow i puting it in with a few other mods at the same time, short throw shifter, stage 2 clutch, monza cat back exhaust and a stupid strut bar. then we will see what gives next. ow yea they pulled the wrong trans for me they pulled a auto when i told them i had a 5 speed.
