i used to work in a tire shop, the info printed on a tire is there for a reason....very important to not take your tires past their rated speed, obviously.

I don't mean to offend anyone with this... but excesively speeding in the winter is pretty freaking stupid....
Around here if your doing over 120km/h in the winter you need a beating...your just putting yourself and others in danger....

basically winter tires are almost nonexistant with a high speed rating.....
and if they do they are very expensive.....and trade off winter traction to be able to do those speeds.

speeding in winter (where you actually get snow) is insanity. whether your tires can handle it or not.....and mostly, its not.

as far as determening your tires speed rating, it is in either of two places: In the tire size info such as 235/45/ZR18 (the Z indicates the speed rating) or you will see it with a load index rating and a letter next to it such as 93W (The W indicating speed rating), Just as an example. Most tire websites list speed rating letters and their max speeds. I suggest everyone that buys new tires for these cars take a good look at their speed ratings and drive accordingly.

Have a safe winter!

I'm pretty sure I recognize that picture. That is a local area SRT-4 who runs high 12s on stock turbo (Gonzoz). That pic is a frame from the video of the dyno run. The owner is a really nice guy, I'm glad the tire didn't pop and that this was on a dyno and not on the street.
