2.0L SS/SC to 2.4SS/SC
2.0L SS/SC to 2.4SS/SC
We have a chance to buy a Ecotec 2.4L from a junkyard here in Quebec. And we want to install in a Cobalt 2.0 SS/SC. But we have a big question, if the supercharger gone fit bolt-on on the 2.4L For the tuning, we have here the HP Tuner. So i would like to know if someone have made this swap before. If yes, how much bosst it can take ???
Thanks Hugo
Thanks Hugo

He's from Quebec, so his first language is not English hence the slightly confusing post.
but basically he said he plans on buying a wrecked 2.4L and is asking is the supercharger from the 2.0L is a direct swap.
Julien:
the supercharger is not a bolt on addition, you'll have to do some fab work to make it fit.
maybe even consider fabing up something and using the 2.0L intack manafold and using the cooling system as well.

What you are suggesting is possible. But not practical. There are much cheaper way to make more power in the LSJ then removing and replacing it.
On a stock LSJ, you could do any of the GM stage kits, aftermarket stage kits, or the soon to come twin charge kit or complete turbo replacement kit.
On the LE5, if you did swap it in, you would have better gain with still less trouble just turbo'ing it.
And the the LE5 has been proven stable on pump gas to over 400 WHP.
