Does a Bad Clutch = Loss of power?

Recently, with my clutch on what seemingly is its last breath, Ive noticed my car doesnt pull as hard. When i down shift it doesnt jerk as hard as it use to, when i floor it, it doesnt throw me back in my seat like it use to. Im not talking about a Major loss and maybe its just in my head, but it definately feels like there is some kind of power loss. My question is, could this be related to my clutch being almost completely worn out?

What other side effects coincide with a worn out clutch, and am i in danger of breaking neighboring parts by procrastinating on buying a new one?

Thanks.

It's not a "power loss" in the motor. But you're no doubt losing the efficiency with which the power gets to the wheels by having a slipping clutch.

As Alley said. the power is still there but its not making it to the wheels because the clutch is just slipping instead.

One thing of note. You said it doesn't jerk as hard as it used to when you downshift. Granted its gonna jerk a little, but you should always try to match revs so that it WONT jerk so much. Could that be what killed it?
