Weird exhaust noise - Cobalt SS/SC

Yes I have when the car is sitting at idle like in drive thru at mcdonalds or at atm when u can hear echo of the building, I took to dealer and told them that I thought some type of heat shield was rattling or something and they said could find nothing. I guess I will just have to track it myself.

i have somthin like that sound only it sounds like an exhaust leak. It sounds like its coming from the front of the car so it might be at the head or down pipe...

I was curious to find out if some people had it too; but I will probably change all the rear section (Catback) in the next few months ...

are you sure its not the supercharger bypass valve? if you hear it more when you're cruising/idling than driving hard, the engine doesn't need the boost the supercharger is supplying and the valve is opened. its in the front of the car, so that would be my guess as to what you're hearing.

My exhaust is also doing some kind of echo at around 3000-4000 rpm. I know this is an old thread by does anybody knows what I'm talking about and most importantly, how to fix it?

Thumbs up

it is the rear heat shield i have had to have it replaced at my dealer you will get a new rear muffler section becuase they cannot order the heat shield by itself just take it in and ask for them to replace the heat shield on the muffler that you know that the part that its boken and making the noise and they should be able to order it and get it to you with in 3-5 day
