anyone elses check engine light come on and spit a code out for a catalyst issue???

my 05 LS Sport Coupe is in the shop right now, awaiting a new catalytic converter at 5543 miles... WTF???

im curious to see what if any, other cobalts have had issues... 9 cobalts came into the service dept at my dealer today with issues... *sigh* :red:

I got that code and it was because my gas cap wasn't on tight enough ;)

this is engine light #4... i checked the cap every time...

i work for a chevy dealer, and the service department has seen like 23 cobalts for engine lights in the past week. this is kinda upsetting to me, as I bought the first coupe to arrive at that dealer... grrrrrrrrr.... my luck is awful!

I had a similar issue and it was linked to a faulty gas cap...have them check the vaccuum seal in your gas tank, etc. to see if the cap is leaking. I forget exactly what code my car threw but since they replaced the gas cap with a new one I've had no problems at all.

its definitly a clogged converter...confirmed.

how the hell THAT happened, who knows...

for now, im enjoying my company demo quite well lol...

What is in the cat that is clogging it in my car though??
