Hey everyone. Im new to the site i have done a quick search and I am still wondering about an upgraded T-chain tensioner..The short story is I have swapped an 05 2.2 cobalt motor in my 97 sunfire added the Hahn turbo kit upgraded with the 20g 880cc injectors ferrera valve train Mahale pistons eagle rods and i have recienty ordered the Hahn sheetmetal intake manifold and HP tuners. I guess what i am getting at is will the stock tensioner hold up to the stiffer valve springs???

Tks Dan

What upgrade?

Yes, the stock unit will be fine. It hydraulic, so it matches your oil pressure.

Careful. There was a redesign of the tensioner for the L61 engine starting with the 2005 model year and the Cobalts. The valve body is a different size. I tried the Bates Engineering upgrade once and that how I learned about it. I still have a 2003 core engine in the basement that has the different sized one.
