Im Going To Blow Up My Dealer!

In all this bad weather , a few weeks ago i slid into a curb trying to stop. My alignment was off a very little bit from it.. before i had time to fix this ..i was "impared" and let a friend take it for a drive...long story short my clutch completly went out. (he has a damn street bike i figured he would get the stick shift concept). but anyways i used to really like the way people at cable dahmer took car of my friends, family, and my other cars, so i took it to them. It has been 2 weeks and 6 days...they wont respond to phone calls, dont have a voicemail, and when we talk to them lie about the progress. So it was supposed to be done monday (4 days ago) and yesterday they said all they had to do was put the wheels on and i could pick it up at six. They call at 5 and say everything thay have done (over 3 weeks keep in mind) is getting undone and redone cause it is still not right. They almost voided warrenty cause my K&N....i mean i am glad they are covering it.. but am i crazy for thinking this is to long?

A)they absolutely cannot void your warranty for the intake. dont let them tell you that for one second.

B)it seems these cars arent the easiest cars to work on when it comes to the tranny and stuff. JapEatr had his car in the shop for like 2-3 months when one of his gears went out. it took the dealer forever to get it done and it was a good dealer by reputation.

dealers will tell you promise dates that they may not meet, but they really do wanna get it right for you. if they dont, it will cost them money, your business, and possibly their jobs.

As you know I manage a collision center and could not agree with you more. We do not enjoy having a car for much longer than we were supposed to, but sometimes things happen. There are just some jobs where everything that can go wrong does. Twice. It is just the nature of the beast. The only complaint that people have ever had about my shop is that it took longer than it was supposed to. I would much rather have that said about me as opposed to they did it really fast, but the paint looks bad the panels don't line up and my check engine light is on. But man they were quick.

alright..thanks guys...if its common then i guess i shouldnt be so pissed. They actaully just called about ten mins ago, they replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and something else....said it is still not running right, and they dont know what it is. Has anyone had a similar problem? what else could it be? i honestly am not that smart when it comes to anything other than the outside of my car.

PM JapEatr. He might know. He worked on his tranny with the Chevy techs when his car was there.

What is not running right? (And apparently the oil from KandN can void warranty of parts connected to it: MAF, T/B, etc - but NOT other parts, ie: tranny)

All they have told me was "clutch and pressure plate" when it happened...it just would not go into gear...there wasnt any loud noise or anything...just stopped ...and they havent explained what "not running right" means in reguards to them fixing it and it still not working

whoooa who are you talking to up there? i dunno whats been said to you but we had to wait a few days to get parts for the car. by the way, your clutch ceases to exist. all of the material is gone all thats left is the metal pucks. so uh..i'd never let your friend touch anything of yours again. but yeah, we replace the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and 2 tires. but like i said, i'm not sure who you talked to or what they said but we've had your car in the shop on the lift for about a week working on it. i appologize for the inconvience and for whomever you had to deal with over the phone but you should have got a call today or hopefully tomorrow morning.

by the way, do you know what happened to genezers z06?

If you gotta replace wheels and tires for 2 of thise its about 1300, depending on what the dealer is going to charge for the wheels, I know cost is like $500 per wheel. You couls make an Insurance claim on that i think and possibly only pay you deductable, but your rates would probably go up.

Still amazed they are replacing your clutch, being as burt up as it sounded like it was.

Damn, you musta hit that curb pretty hard. Stock pirellis are horrible in the winter, Luckily I have survived 2 in michigan without getting stuck or sliding into anything.

you can get a clutch replaced under warranty as long as you're under 7500 miles. Next time you go to cable, try to get adam parker as your advisor. in my opinion hes the best up there
