ok soo i just did some research

ok so i've looked over the forums and everyones saying that 3'' exhaust is to big. Now would running a 3'' dp into a 2.5 or 2.25'' exhaust hurt? cause i have the 3'' dp and CA header sitting in my bedroom. so if i went with a 2.25 exhaust or 2.5'' exhaust would that be ok?

An exhaust system is only as good as its smallest point... having 3" sections further up in the exhaust won't hurt anything...

having 3" will hurt. I have had both 3" and 2.5" and let me tell you, You loose too much low end with the 3" its not even worth it. If you are shooting for 300whp with the stock supercharger do 2.5" all the way back meaning header back. and youll see better gains. Now if you are going turbo 3" is a must. Not for us though.

Yeah... you do have to buy the tip seperately... but that way you get choice... either straight or slant cut. Also the fact that its stamped GM means no exhaust tickets from the cops b/c it's a factory piece.

Everyone I meet with a Cobalt or Redline loves the sound... nice and mellow... not ricey. Just loud enough to make you happy... no headaches. I had a magnaflow system on my 2.4... but decided to go with the GM system this time around. Exhaust is all about personal choice and budget. They all pretty much perform within a few hp of eachother. Get whichever you want.
