Hptuners...do you reccomend it for someone with no tuning experience?
Hptuners...do you reccomend it for someone with no tuning experience?
well i think the question says it all....im thinking about getting hptuners...and i was wondering if it is really worth seeing as i have no experience when it comes to tuning...is there a place i can go and learn the ropes of it...i did some looking on hptuners site and i didnt come up with much...so what do you all think?
i would say 90% of the people who buy it have had no tuning experience including myself...theres alot of reading & experimentation that needs to be done on your part, but its really not that difficult.
so am i better off to check it out on hptuners site first or just hands on with it?
what about if none of the dyno tuning places around here has hptuners.. could i buy the tuner and then take it to a dyno place and the people there use it pretty easy if they have tuning experience?

^^^^^Definately!!
BTW you don't need the pro interface to hook up the WB. You need it to do it correctly but... there are other ways to read your AEM O2 WB through HPT Basic!!
But it's a pain in the as.. I know, I did it. I am going to upgrade to the Pro interface sometime soon because of it
There would be absolutely no point in doing that. You would be paying 500 for hp tuners and then paying someone 500-1000 to tune it for you. Get HP tuners if you think you can understand it. Hopefully there is someone around you that has is and can either tune your car or show you how to use HP tuners.
But the answer is not everyone that gets HP tuners is a tuner.

definitly...people go months struggling with tuning using trims & such...then buy a wideband & have everything in line in a day or so.
yes its very easy to navigate through, but if your tuner doesnt already have a program for your car they probably know about as much about tuning them as you do

hey i have a question.. i see that your in NJ so would you happen to be going to the meet in princeton? on april 14th if so do you think you can tune my car.. ron991 is gonna ask ptparker to help me out but if both of you guys worked together maybe i could get a better tune..i have a 2006 Saturn Ion Redline w/ Comp PKG.. i will have a proted blower.. 2.6 inch pulley.. 60 pound injectors.. 3 inch cat-back.. an that should be it for right now.. but im gonna bring th pulley an injectors down there with me.. an ill already have the exhaust an the blower done.. so i was just wondering cuz u seem to have a goood idea about hptuners
He probably is an f-body owner like most of the HPT guys
