I get 95* just driving around and then I peak at 124* at top of third, which is comparable to a 1/4 mile run.

I find that REALLY hard to believe unless it was like 20 degrees outside. I get up to 127 and I have more cooling mods than you.

Blown 4-banger = 2.6"
Psykostevo = 2.7"

I cruise around 87* or so and peak in 3rd about 127-135*. Stock pulley, CAI, and GMPP Catback.

I would say 130 degrees is ideal in alot of cases.

By the end of the run not so bad because you go back to cruise mode. Iwas helping Blown 4-banger tune in his car one time and as soon as IAT2 reached 135+ he would start to get knock. This is also running 18-19 psi, so 135 shouldn't be that bad on stock or even Stage 2 boost.

What about stage 2 and 2.9" pulley?

You would probably still be ok. Set your Interceptor to KR and make sure that you are getting 0* KR at those temps. You will see some KR between gears, but you want to look out while you are under load.

The main thing is to not get any knock. The cooler the air, the less likely you are to knock. Assuming you are running the proper AFR.

I think with a lot of intercooler mods, you would benifit with any size pulley, but with a smaller pulley (2.5"-2.6") you would see A LOT of benefit. However I think the intercooler has a limit, with a 2.5-2.6 pulley people report temps of 160-170 degrees even with meth on long WOT runs. I think the temps are going to get up there and stay, on a 140 mph run my IAT2 got up to 155, which is really good. On a 161 mph run with a starting IAT2 of 107 degrees it peaked at 178 degrees. I think more intercooler mods lower the temp ceiling, and slow the increase, but I think 150-160 is the best you're gonna get on a long run.

I've been scanning a lot since I put in the 60's, and that is what I am getting. SRT-Killer was in the car with me too, he saw them. I thought they would be much higher than that, but lucky me :-) Still doing the Dual pass though.

He is tellin the truth! I was in the car. I couldn't believe the temps myself. His car runs really cool for some reasone. Hell i have meth and my temps are crazy high compare to his! Every car is different tho.

I see average IAT2 temps about 20 above ambient. It gets lower, maybe 15 above ambient on occasions. If I get on it heavily, I can expect to see them go to 140 but they are there only for a brief time. After that they cool down rather quickly (back to about 30 over ambient). I have an extra heat exchanger with about 6 feet of tubing added. I am running a 2.5 also.

Once the IAT2 gets above 160 on the stock tune I believe it starts to limit boost. Also on the stock tune if the engine coolant gets above 220 i believe it starts to limit boost. But the lower the temps always the better.

That sounds about right, I haven't looked at a stock tune in quite some time...so I don't remember.

What was your starting temp on that run? When I was looking and got up to 127 on 1/4 mile run, it was starting at 114.

I run about 30 deg above outside temp according to my temp guage on the interceptor and DIC. WIth a long highway cruise I can get it down to 20 deg above. Jumps to 40-50deg above with some spirited driving. On stock pulley

Sorry to bring this tread back to life but I finally have the car out of storage and when it was in storage I did the dual pass end plate with the extra coolant resivoir, 60lb injectors and a 2.6" pulley from a 2.8". I've been tuning the VE and Maf for a week now and today I'm pretty much there on my Commanded A/F Ratio matching my actual a/f.

I'm still ironing out a bit of know here and there but today I finally got to go WOT for a long period of time. I was playing arounf with this car on the highway and my IAT2 got up to 147max, at cruise they were around 82 and my IAT1 was steady at 43-47.

I'm sure that everything is flowing great because I pulled a hose off to be sure. Do those temps sound right to you guys? They seem kind of high to me. I got up to around 125mph when playing with this car. It lasted about 5 minutes or so, going WOT then letting off and getting back on er again.

It depends on what the temp was outside as well, but those sound like pretty decent IAT2 temps to me.
