GM Dealers only use AC Delco parts, so it might look as if it was never changed.

I replace mine with AC delco typically as well.

Did you take a look at the filter? As long as it wasn't full of metal shavings or otherwise fubar'd I'd say your okay.

They can tell that it was never replaced because the wen you buy you car,,, the car comes with the oil filter sill so is harder to open is like it has silicone and when it breaks its easier to open bc it just unscreews,, I having a hard time discribing exactly what it is,,, the car does not have any problem they check it and its ok bc I dont have big milage,,, but they say is very unprofecional of the dealer to not replace the oil filter....

How does it serve him right? Alot of people would rather take it to a dealership where they are certified and work on his vehicle alot...even with something simple as a oil change. Some people are just more secure with them. It's not his fault (if they actually didn't change the filter) that they didn't do it correctly.

And please don't say that "All GM Techs are dumb" non-sense cause I could point out some that are far knowledgable than you and me.

To the original poster, take it to another GM/Chevy dealership...just cause you bought your car from them doesn't mean you have to go to them.

I got my oil changed somewhere and even though I explicitly showed them how to change teh oil before hand, they still never changed the filter. They can't think outside the box to put their arm UNDER the supercharger! What a bunch of morons!

I take my car to the dealer. it's still under warranty; and my techs there treat me well.. my family has spent a TON of money at their dealership though so they respect us.

It does have a Identification, some how you can tell ,I am positive.

It reminds me of a story about a women who brought her car in with engine problems
and they told her the oil was never changed because it had a stock filter and they would not warranty it,and she said how can that be my husband changes the oil and filter regularly.
Turned out her husband worked for in a gm plant and was stealing the filters.

i used the purealor filter the last time, so i know that it's been changed.

esp with the SCs, a lot of places don't do it because it's a bitch to get to without that weird special socket. and it gets hot.
