Injen Installed

Well, I got up this morning to install my Injen intake, and that all went well, but while I was working on it I noticed that there was a gap between the headlight and the bumper on the driver side (there is a smaller gap on the passenger side)
My main worry is if this would be a problem with rain. Does anyone else have this gap, is it normal? I do have a hydroshield on the intake. Here are a couple of pictures of the gap:

Is there something that I should look for being loose on the front of the car?

By the way, I put it on this morning and did some running around today. ~125mi and no cel, and the S/C whine kicks ass!

I have the same gap, but mine is on the passenger side. I tired moving the light and to pop that peice underneath the light again and it worked for that moment. Just when any pressure was on the light or when i closed the hood it would go back to the way it was with the gap. I guess this is normal wish it wasnt like that. Sucks cuz nobody can see it but you know its there so it pisses me off.

i have it too. but mines not quite as prominant. and its on the passenger side.

there IS a TSB out on this problem, and you can take it to your dealer to have your front bumper adjusted if you want.

GM is aware of it, and should fix it under warranty.

Those gaps are normal. I have had several Cobalts pass through my shop and they all have that. I know you trust me opinion by now so do not worry about it. It will not cause you any problems whatsoever. If I combed over your car I would point out so many things that you didn't know about you would think the car is a p.o.s They all have there flaws. I have noticed so many on mine and I am not even tryign to look, but I just swallow the pill that tells me there is no such thing as a "perfect car". Besides, if the headlamps made contact with the bumper and had no gap, they would eat up the paint.

The only time you will run into a problem with water and your cai is if it gets submerged.

Told you the s/c sound would be a lot more pronounced. Glad you like it. Just beware the dreaded CEL. IF you get one, let me know and I will read the code for you.

right on, I just wanted to make sure it was normal.
kenhebe: Yeah the whine kicks some ass. Its another thing that makes it too hard for me not to go full throttle all the time So far, I still dont have a cel, I just drove it a little bit more. *knocks on wood* I've also got the hydroshield as a safeguard for splashes...

saunders: my clearance is OK, around the hole I am good. I am going to watch it over the next few days to see how it works. I've thought about getting some vacuum tubing and slitting it open in the same way, just to be sure. the tip of my filter just barely grazes the inside of the bumper, but puts no pressure on it at all. The only real complaint I have is that the rubber vibration mount thingie should be shorter by 1-2mm, if that was the case I think it would be perfect.

Even my AEM rubs up against the LT fog lamp just a tad. Do not worry though. I know what you mean about wanting to go full throttle all the time. Since I got my exhaust done a couple weeks ago, that is all I want to do.
