Stock Cobalt Bumper = Stock G5 Bumper?

I have some damage on my rear bumper on my G5 and I figured instead of going through the hastle to have it replaced for $800 I'd look for salvage ones from a Cobalt. Are they going to fit exactly the same, and is this going to work?

The coupes are different. Only the cobalt sedan and G5 sedan share the same bumper. I'm in the business. trust me.

I've got the two door coupe G5. If I got a bumper from a Cobalt sedan then would I be fine?

No.

But you could get the bumper from the Cobalt coupe and the tail lights from the cobalt coupe that would work.

Later

I don't get why?

Doesn't the Cobalt sedan have the same taillights as my G5?

Erm... what he said... in good english...

The reverse lights for the G5 are located in the rear bumper, on each side of the tag recess... on the Cobalt sedan they are located inside the tail lights.

If you put on a Cobalt rear bumper you will have to get Cobalt tail lights for the reverse lights to function. And if I'm not mistaken that's some kind of national law that all cars have to have reverse lights.
