is there a way to aim my projectors without having my stock lights in first and marking where they hit the wall etc? basically, i have my projectors in and i didnt know where my stock lights hit on the wall..anyone know a good way to aim them without using the stock ones for reference first? thanks.. and btw, i watched that youtube how to..

 

I answered this for you at YC.com, but I'll repost it here.

Aim them to a decent level, then go driving. If they are too low (you'll know) go back and readjust them. Rinse and repeat until you are satisfied.

If your driving down the road and you can see the road its fine, who really cares about people coming at you.

 

Mine are set to where the cut-off-line is just off the street. I can see about 25 ft in front of me (more then enough) and my high beams are just a wall of light!!!!!

 

does anyone have any advice for me aiming my projectors? should i be able to see the cutoff line on the road? and what about aiming my high beams? i just want to know how high i should aim them and i know that the projectors need to be aimed lower then the regular halogen.. could someone measure the cutoff line of your adjusted low/high beams reflected on a wall/ garage and let me know how far away your car was from the wall? thanks.

 

Look on the "How To" section. theres a video a guy made about it. Highs can only be adjusted left and right not vertically. Ive had mine for a few weeks now and im still fine tuning my lows to the tight level. And the dirvers side light seems dull compared to the passanger side for some reason.

 

i saw that vid..doesnt really do much on terms of how far up the cutoff line should be..stuff like that.

 

Ohh. I understand you. Well I have my cutoff line at the hight of 1 square off the ground (with a conventional garage). Car is parked about 7 feet from the garage. its ok now but still needs to be a bit lower cuz i can still see the reflection of it on the highway signs. Just fine tuning now. I wish they would have done that when they assembled them, or at least make it like the stock lights where it cold be done without having to remove and install the lights over and over.

 

would you be able to measure that? i dont have a garage so i have to do it on a wall.. thanks.

 

i had to bump this.. im still fine tuning my high and low beams..but i need to know.. should i be able to see the cutoff line on the street? i dont know if i got them too high.im pretty sure i got them good left to right (it was just foggy as hell out so i used that to my advantage lol) any tips would be cool. and one more thing.. i put luminics pure blues into my projectors but they arent blue like they were in my stock housings.. anyone know why?

 

i have bouncy lowering springs and i love watching the cut of line bounce up and down when i go over bumps

Sorry i havnt replied back in a while. Believe it or not im still fine tuning the lights

They are about at the level i want them at now. Maybe a bit higher. I ordered a set of Sylvaina h1's so we'll see if i have to re-adjust them again with those in. As it stands with the front most tip of the car 6' away from the garage or wall in your case), the cutoff line is at the 2' from the ground up on the garage. I feel it pointed low butthese lights are so dull that its my best visability on the roads. Hopefully i will be able to see better with the silverstars in (And hopefully they wont burn out like what other ppl have said on this site ).
