HpTuners Tune

Last nite me and 06blackg85ss did a preliminary setup on my car. What we did was bump up some timing and such. Got a decent log in despite the rain. Hopefully on saturday we can bump it up some more. We did some WOT adjustments so the car pulls really well in higher RPM's and well as shifts alot better. Im sure he will add some more input on here as in what he did.yeah GM does max out the injectors in our cars. i was running at 93% injector duty. i mite bump it up to the stock ss/sc injectors to get some more tuning. just to let u guys know how its going.

I beleive the stock 2.4L injectors are close to max. A number of folks are installing the stock SS/SC injectors to allow for more tuning and mods. You might as well since it would be easy for you to tune it.

yeah I can't believe stock the 2.4 hits 98% inj duty by 6800 rpm. But yeah since this was my first 2.4 I'm taking baby steps. so far just 2 deg timing advance mid range and top end, 5% increase in line pressure. less tq management btwn shifts... since I was having problems writing I had to wait for hptuners to send me a beta (2.1.17) to get it to write since I was getting boot loader error. but I"ll be playing with the tune some more tonight and hopefully it clears up around here saturday so we can get some log runs in.

as I always say... making cobalts fast.... 1 at a time... lol

just need to get him a set of ss/sc injectors so I can really start playing around with the tune.. just am not liking the 98% IDC I"m seeing. but so far so good.

the only thing is i think with the 2.4 u need a 2.2 harness or something to hook up to the stock 2.0 injectors.

will definatly do...

also on a good note... Hpt doesn't charge you any credits (since I had the ss/sc 06 license)... just reads as an 06 cobalt (I4), just like the 2.0 ... sweet.

My dyno runs showed that at WOT (stock tune) it runs progressively richer until redline. So rich that we reduced fuel at WOT 4% and picked up 1 1/2 WHP. We didn't experiment past that because there was a line for the dyno.

Were you seeing the same thing?

well unfortunatly he doesn't have a wideband in the car... so I will not mess with AFR until he does...

just wrote up something new for sean to test tomorrow... should be a nice difference... can;t wait to see how it turns out

tuned again. im sure paul will chime in again. after flashing the car again today we took it for some runs. we did alot more tuning to the tranny. its more powerful now and pulls very nicely WOT. change shift points, added some more timing, etc.

paul please add to this..cuz it couldn't really read the laptop..it was to sunny.

added 1 deg of timing, raised shift points, raised speed limiter, raised rev limiter, upped shift speed, and pressure, and a few other little things for now.

just got him a set of ss/sc injectors (fo free) so once we install those and a wideband... more to come./
