Quick Boost Question
I was talking to a friend the other night who has an RL. I asked him how much boost he was pushing and he said "14 psi". I then asked if he had changed pulley sizes and found out that he hadn't, but that another friend had "done something else to the engine for him."
So my question is, is it possible to up the boost without changing pulley sizes? Thanks.
My bet is your friend isn't reading the boost gauge correctly. You'll notice the stock gauge has the numbers 10 and 15 then 3 lines in between. The lines represent 11.25, 12.5 and 13.75....I guess its close...but no cigar
I'm not sure if he has a boost gauge. All I know is that his RL is an '04. I should remember this because I did ride in his car once. Of course, I was more concerned with the blue lights behind us...
Well, I found out what they did. Apparently they "disconnected the signal line that opens the bypass at high rpm". Thats how he's making several extra pounds of boost. Could this have some negative effect on his engine over time?
