My latest service at the dealer

#1) Had the front windshield replace due to a chip that turned into a crack the length of the entire windshield. cost $350.00CAD (included labor)

#2) spilt a gallon of paint in the truck----$179.50CAD (included labor) ok I was stupid but after looking at the results it looks ok but you're right I could have done this one at a good fabric shop. All they did was cut out the fabric and staple it to some thin wood and throw it in. Oh well.

Warrenty work

#1) corrected remote transmitter that worked intermittantly

#2) I told them to replace all trim panels painted silver......they replace only the small door panels on the right door and the left door. They said that some panels on the front were "scuffed or scratched" and that wasn't considered warrentied. The new panels they did replace were clear coated and now don't match the front ones.......BOOO!! I will call GM directly to see what can be done about this as the front panels are obviously lacking in durability.

#3) Blower motor (this is the interior air blower for the noobs) replaced for sounding like crickets for the second time..........I told them to check the cabin air filter first and see if this wasn't the problem but they just went ahead and replaced it anyway.........we'll do this again in a few months I guess.

#4) head impact protection................This is the recall for all the coups without side impact air bags installed. No real diff. in the look. No extra damage done by doing this. so I have no problem with this.

Well, that is it for this time around........I'll add to this post the next time around

By the way, how long did it take to install the head impact protection? I'm going to get mine done within a week or two.

The head impact recall thingy is being done on my car Monday, as well as replacing the flaking trim, fixing the sunroof switch bezel (for the second time), and putting the top of my shifter knob back on (doh!). Of course the main thing I'm taking it in for is a cold start issue. It will never start on the first turn of the key, guarenteed, but starts right up on the second. Been doing this for a year, now, and other dealers have just told me they couldn't "duplicate the problem". I'll give dealer #3 a try.

I feel your pain on the spilled paint issue. Years ago I had to use my car for work and was carrying a gallon of concrete sealer on the floor of the front passenger side. I could get high off of the fumes for months afterwards...

Thats what I'm doing. Had the dealer install my spec stage 2+ they must have ground the flywheel to much because the clutch won't disengage completely. I have to force it into gear or rev match. They told me and i quote, "this is how its supposed to be, its the sportiness of the new clutch." so i'm taking the beast to another dealer with the service order and results from their install and diagnosis. Gonna get my car fixed on their dime.
