I take it back...

Well after all those "these tires suck in the snow" threads i would comment on, i will retract everything ive said in them. I jsut drove in teh snow with my summer tires and rims..(WTF is april why snow) and WOW you cant do **** with them. took me 2 hrs to drive 14 miles to my girls house. I still believe its 95% driver but i take back what ive said in those threads and will say its a bitch to drive in the snow with summer tires

I'm guessing you guys are talking about the ss tires. althought not great, the tires on the ls do pretty well in the snow, and the car does great. it just takes a few years worth of pratice driving in deep snow to learn how to get through it. but my ls with factory tires did amazing well in our 3 feet of snow this winter. I didn't get stuck once, and in 3 feet (i'm not exaggerating in the least bit) of snow on unplowed roads that speaks for its self.

i have plenty of experience on another car...both 5 speeds. it's just the stock sssc tires i think...not much traction. it could be worse though.

i second that.. my summer tires are like trying to drive drag slicks covered in oil in the snow.. stock were much better in the snow..

Yeah driving summer tires in the snow/ice isnt fun. I did it last year. Glad I got new tires before the snow hit this year.

I have the best of both worlds, LOL. I have dedicated winter tires and I have the Neros as my summer-only tires, so I dont' have to worry about the snow - YAY!

And on a side note, took the Neros out on a road course last weekend and they performed BETTER than the Rossos - better grip and better handling....soooo, i say the Rossos are a waste of money!

LOL I run 3, soon to be 4, sets of tires - 16" G6 wheels with winter tires, 17" Kosei wheels with R-comps for auto-x, and stock tires with the Neros for the summer. Hopefully soon to be picking up another set of 17s for Azenis for the road course.

I got the Neros more for the treadwear and I'd heard that they'd gotten better wet and dry traction ratings than the Rossos. Didn't even care whether they'd handle the snow or not, but as I'm finding out, now I don't have to worry about whether or not I'm going to get screwed by a sudden spring snowstorm cause every set of road tires I have can handle snow.

Good luck . My Neros won't ever see a drag strip, I went a total of 2 times, got a time in the mid-14s, was happy with that and I'm done. Drag racing never appealed to me, but didn't wanna write it off without ever trying it.

I also notice that the Neros wear SIGNIFICANTLY better than the Rossos. (which they should w/double the treadwear rating)
