Magnaflow Cat-back Installed!
So yeah... my little thread to brag. I picked up the exhaust from DMan on Friday.... got 'er installed by the local mineke shop for $70 today... piece of cake.
Lemme say... this thing sounds great! Nice tone at idle... nothing ricey during accel... and a wonderful gargle on the decel. It really carries the natural sound of the engine out the back... no fart can here. The sound clips on Magnaflow's site simply don't do it justice.
As far as looks you really can't tell it from the stock SS system... the tip is a little bit bigger in the back... but that's it. To an untrained eye it'll look identical.
Only one slight issue with it... the tip is rubbing the grey plastic in the back just slightly... it'll probably melt after a while... so I'm gonna have to either notch the opening out a little more or something. We'll see how it goes.
I haven't had much of a chance to drive it around yet. So I can't tell you anything on the performance end. I'm going down to the local strip for some test 'n' tune on Thursday nite so I'll post up new numbers after I get them.
I hope some more people will consider this system... since I've heard it in person it's really changed my mind on things.... I see why they'd charge $600 for it now.
Oh... and on a side note... I've got the stock piping, muffler, and tip sitting in the garage if anyone wants to make me an offer on it. It's not doing me any good.

Wanna be the first to say congratulations, as I too have the mod bug and a long list of parts to install when I return to the states, and I too, will be posting about them soon, so it makes me glad that there are more modded balts out there, and mine will be soon...

any photos of the OEM piping off of the car? i'm curious, did it need to be cut to come off and how restrictive is it, it doesn't look that bad under the car.

I happen to have the stock piping sitting in the garage...
As you can see... the stock resonator and piping to the axle really isn't that restrictive at all. But the stock muffler is HUGE. I'd say replacing it alone would net you a decent horsepower gain for a very cheap price.
Edit: Oh, and pardon the mess in the garage... it's just being used for storage of crap till I get moved into my new appartment.

I just purchased my magnaflow exhaust about 10 min ago on my lunch break. I hate visiting this thread, it makes me spend all my money
But man I'm excited, can't wait. Thanks goes out to everyone who posted audio clips and modernperformance for the great price.
