I heard those things put down power. Were they both stock or were there mods?

Wow, starting price around 32k, 280 hp, 265 tq, and ~3800 lbs 13.5hp per lb

Hmm... cobalt 240hp at ~3000 lbs 12.5hp per lb shoulda been fun.

The Passat must have had a good driver who wasn't afraid to abuse the machinery. The AWD will permit a much more aggressive launch. And it does have 280 horsepower.

anyone else notice something wrong with those numbers? lol

im lost how the cobalt lost with those numbers...my friends got a magnum, n those are 250hp 3800lbs and its a close race for me n him, n i drive a 2.2
was there a typo on the passats weight or something? cuz it sure doesnt sound like a magnum with 30 more horses if its taking stII cobalts

My dad has one and i would agree that it can beat a cobalt SS/SC, any day, the VW has a Sport gear like the Acura TL and RL, which allows the automatic to redline the engine in every gear before shifting.

280HP at the "CRANK". The Magic word.

It's more like 230-240whp which honestly is on par with a Stage II if nothing else is done to the Cobalt. Of course usually half the cars on the road have better gearing then we do. I digress...

Heavy car, but those numbers are impressive for a stock, NA V6. I bet those things can be tuned like a ****.

A guy tried to race me in his a while back ago but, I didn't because we were in traffic. I woulda thought it at leat woulda been a good race. I do fin dit strange that a stg II 2.0 still got beat hard by a Passat.

you think AWD makes up for 800 lbs?
800 lbs is the difference between 150HP (crank) and 250HP (crank)....literally...i can tell you from experience

Yea, those numbers dont add up, the SS should have been real close.
But, dont feel too bad since the car does cost $10,000 more then the ss s/c.

it must of been from a dig cause i walked on one from a roll. they do run a 14.4 or something i think. Not slow at all, but should not beat a cobalt ss with stage 2.
