That clicking noise

Ok, this has been an issue for a while for some of us and I haven't seen anything posted recently about this. I've read a lot in other posts and haven't gotten a definite answer or fix to the problem. Most common response is the axles. Some say it fixed it, some others said it came back after a while. Any updates with this? I have been to a couple dealerships and they have looked at it a couple times each and say they can't find anything wrong. I don't have any mods so it's not the ingalls TD. This clicking noise happens all the time, whether hot or cold out, happens in reverse and forward. Seems to be have been getting worse as time has gone on, which makes me think everything is not ok.

Any new details anyone has to report?

Be a little more specific.
A clicking noise while driving. Or just a clicking noise when the motor is turned on and warmed up, regardless of movement. (because that's normal)

He's talking about the drivetrain lash type click, when shifting or going from forward-reverse or something. I still hear it sometimes, but with my exhaust not too much

This is while driving, and it comes from the front passenger side on the outside by the wheel. Usually occurs while shifting but not every shift and it does happen sometime when I'm not shifting.

There's a few old posts under the problems & service forum that describe my problem pretty well from other members if anyone is really interested.

Axles/ CV joints. Mine would come from the driver side. And also occur during shifting/on & off the gas or starting from a stand still. Go visit the dealer.

I have the same noise - like a clicking or popping noise coming from the front end. Have them check out the bushings in the front suspension - it is either that or the axels. I kept thinking mine was the axels, but it turned out to be the bushings.

So I should ask the dealer to take a good look at the axle and CV joints? I'm sick of them just taking a quick look and tightening up things. I want to go in and give them specific things to look for to see if I can actually get this problem resolved.

I don't remember what bushings exactly, I will look and see if they put it on the service order receipt.

I replaced my CABs, thats why I'm asking. I don't think I have heard the click since, now that I think about it.
