TWM = Black Hands.....??

OK I finaly got the TWM Shifter installed and I luv it.. but that darn alluminum knob is turning my hands black... anybody els have that problem and what can we do about it?

am I the only one with this issue??

have you cleaned the knob with say so kind of ammonia (windex possibly) and see if it still did it?

Have not tried that.. I just figured it was what aluminium did.. But I will try it...

If it's cheap aluminum (1000 series), cleaning it ain't gona help. Obviously try cleaning it first but from working in a machine shop, low grade Al will rub off on your hands, even after having been cleaned in a solvent bath. In which case you'd have to clear the knob with laquer or something.

That's cheap-o aluminum for you... will oxidize and rub off on your hands... I've got a set of kitchen knives that does the same thing.
