i ordered an injen intake yesterday and i wasnt thinking at the time about it at all but does the airfilter come with it cause that would suck to have to order that 2 the extra money and now a longer wait? so for you guys that bought an intake did it come with a airfilter?

 

yes it comes with the filter

 

yeah it does come with the ait filter, but as discussed in a few other threads you should consider an injen hydroshield or bypass valve too. just a suggestion.

you cant put a bypass valve on a boosted car (forced induction) if you do air will just be drawn through the bypass valve all the time and not the actually filter at the end of the pipe.

but yeah hydrosheild if your worried I have a K&N and it came with the filter and the hydrosheild I jsut left the hydrosheild off and its been like 6 months no problems what soo ever ....

 

make sure when ur installing it that it is all the way down in the rubber elbow if not the metal piece on the hood will scrape it up

 

you're good to go, but i would get the hydroshield for about 25 bucks.



you will love the intake...it makes them scream so much more than normal. the difference suprised me.

ok i'm no genius but honestly
i have the injen cai and the only real way to **** up ur engine is to literally drive through a foot of water and submerge the filter. we've all put these suckers on and you guys know how high it sits above the plastic underbody piece so no real water will get up from the bottom and as far as the top goes you would have to drive through one hell of a puddle to hydro lock your car. the pre filter is a precaution but its like wearing a condom and pulling out when u finish....you arent really gonna gain anything from having it on.

ps. i like how it on the injen website it says the prefilter keeps water and debris out.....isnt a regular filter supposed to keep debris out anyways? lol
