Yep, since the rest of the drivetrain is built, that third gear takes the abuse I guess. The car has been running great and nice and strong until today. The thing that gets me is that it actually went into 3rd without grinding or anything, and it just wasn't there! I really broke this one though because I limped it home and as soon as I was rolling into the driveway the fluid starting pouring out the case where the bellhousing meets the other part of the tranny. Thank god it didn't destroy my Exedy clutch!

I'm going to try and see if I can get someone to fix what's broke on the old one I still have, and build it. If I can't find a place to build me a tougher tranny, I'm done. There is no sense in taking the car any further if third gear will keep crapping out on me.

For those that don't know, I'm running a 2.6" pulley to include methanol injection and everthing under the sun except for a front mount HE. The car makes almost as much torque as it does hp, so the car is a straight up animal. I hang regularly with a 300+whp SRT-4 and others with my current setup. To think that I was only running 15* of timing too! I wonder what would have happened if I cranked it up for the methanol!

If I could get a race gearset, I'd be all of them like stink on ****!

For now, it looks like I'm going to have to call TAG racecraft and get my deposit back on the twinscrew. I need the funds bad in order to get either project Integra up and boosting, or to build the tranny. Luckily the S-10 that I loan to all my buddies who break is still running great!

I can't believe so many people are trying to drag these things, still. They are great track cars, they are just designed for a different track. Lots of upgrades are finally in the works. I'd definately hold off until they are ready.

My headlights are normal, I took the vinyl tint off awhile ago. What is the great desire for that?

I have been looking at a couple options here. I have an email out to a company that builds and beefs up SRT-4 transmissions and another one to Autotech for the 6-speed Quaife conversion. If the 6-Speed conversion will hold the power I intend to have, I'm willing to take a personal loan out for the $3995 since I'll be able to pay it off by the end of the year. Time will tell.

yea....i dont know where i got headlights from.....I meant to say your grill. (don't ask what I was thinking, cuz I have no Idea either )

I tried doing the mesh grill thing, and just couldnt get it to work. so i went out and bought a new grill. My thought is, possibly we could swap grills if you decide to part with your balt? I'll kick in some cash as well.

and yea, i tried following your how to https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-make-custom-top-grill-21641/

One word Mikronite. I'm looking for stronger gearset actually. Cryo-treatment is great, but I actually want a set like Gimmie Gear (SP?) for the Subaru's. We shall see.
