Tranny Number Two GONE!
On a positive note, Performance AutoWerks
(builds SRT-4 trannies) told me to send in my tranny and they would quote me a price to fix what's broke and beef it all up. The email was rather uplifting and they sounded interested in helping me out, so everyone keep your fingers crossed!
Maybe it's time to think about upgrading to one of these?

as for the gears.. I was disassembling a blown tranny... using the correct gear puller.. and the damn gear broke into 3 pcs'.... now that's weak. They def aren't cast...

As for the six speed conversion, I'm still awaiting a response on that. I want to know if it's actually going to be stronger than our POS gearset. I want hard numbers before I invest in a $3995 gearset needless to say! I'll keep you guys posted.
Powedered metal is great if it is the right mixture and heat treated properly. I don't think this trany was ever expected to handle the kind of everyone seems to be dishing out.
Good luck on the AutoWerks route. You should see if they could make a 3.00 first gear like the Quaife 6 speed conversion.
