Installed GM Stage 3 Pulley and Ingalls
Well as the title said I installed my GM Stage 3 pulley and Ingalls torque damper yesterday. the pulley bumped my stage 2 boost from 15psi to 16.25psi and builds it a little sooner. It seems to be a little more perky in the lower rpms. i have to say though getting that god forsaken belt on was a *#%$##%#$%^#%!!!! it took me longer to get the belt back on then it took for the whole ingalls install.
Now with the ingalls, i noticed a difference right away in how the cars acts from a launch even with normal driving. i still have a little wheel hop so i need to adjust it down a little more. it also made everything vibrate like hell. all the rattles i knew i had, i'm now really aware of, but thats alright now the techs at the dealer should be able to hear them instead of not being able to reproduce them.
i do have one question for the guys that do have then ingalls, what do setting do you recommend for the stiffy? i was reading the stock size is 14mm. i was thinking about going down to 12mm. Is that to much or not enough?

I am thinking about getting the stage 3 pulley to go along with the stage 2 kit. I was just wondering if there was a noticeable increase in power before I spend the money and get it. Id like to get the dual-pass endplate and the pulley.
i think it was worth it. there isn't a huge difference only 1.25psi but you can feel it more in the lower rpms. if your expecting huge gains then its not really worth it. i went with it because its the safest bet and a better chance at slipping it past the techs at the dealer.
I just got done doing the same to mine. Vibrations are ther and wheel hop is no minimal I adjuted mine to just under 12mm . I saw 17psi at 6800rpm with the s3 pulley. If you get an exhaust it helps better with the low end power. Can't wait for th manifold now.
i had one bolt that was being a bastard but it wan't to bad other than that. i left the belt on then loosened all the bolts. it was the last i had to hold on the the pulley and belt while my dad armed the ratchet. it was so tight it actually twisted the socket that come with the stage 2 kit. that damn stage 2 belt was something else.i'm looking forward to changing it. good thing the stage 3 pulley is smaller.
So the 1.9mm difference in pulleys from the stage 2 to the stage 3's will give ya on average 1.25lbs of boost extra for $100.00? And is 1.25lbs of boost for that amount of money worth it?
i think its worth the safe few hp and the better response. i could have got a 2.8 but there is no guarantee that it won't make something pop. that and the fact that my dealer doesn't care i have it because its a gm part.
get the 2.9" pulley. pm nherbst454, hes one of the guys on here and ask him about it. he really knows exactly what hes talking about and can help you. hes got the 2.9" pulleys that will bolt up to your stage 2 kit. from what ive heard and researched, it works perfectly fine with your stage 2 tune.
I just got through putting the Stage 3 pulley on and an Injen intake. Sounds purdy good
and there's a noticable difference in how it takes off now compared to before without the 2.
