ss/na grill or no? please give opinion

My birthday is coming up, may 8th... 21 baby whooo! ha anyway my fiance wants to get me a gift and i'm not sure if i should get ss/na lower grill for my sc or if there is something better to get for $74. i cant think of any other performance mod i could get with our limited funds, but she is willing to pay for the lower grill piece. is it worth the price or should i do something else? i have had the condenser replaced once (under warantee by the dealer) because a rock flew up and hit it on the highway and i dont know what the chances are that will happen again. i'm getting a pulley no matter what so thats not an option for the present, please help me decide

haha you can set the poll to last for 79.5 days! sorry, i didnt take my ritalen today...

I'd go for it... keep all the trash off of the condenser.

anybody who votes for something else let me know why. or what else to get. cause if there is nothing else for the money i can get for my car i might as well get it. i want to get 60# injectors and a tune after i get my smaller pulley but that is much more out of the price range, and we are trying to save money for the wedding this septmember. one thing i am worried about is if my condenser get f'ed on the way to ny the dealer says they wont warentee work again, and thats probably over $300.

Get the lower grill piece.
It was one of the first things I bought.
The cars should have come with them stock.
If you search hard, there is pics of somebody who took out frogs and it made a big mess. The guy was wishing he had the grill before hand.

Do a different mod. The 'custom' one that uses a mesh. Looks better IMO, and you can tell your GF to get you a performance something or another. lol

Ther eis a how to around ehre somewhere on it.

I love my SS2.4 grill. Matches the upper grill perfectly, and installs in <1 minute FTW

The performance stage has no exit, only detours

Personally, I think the grille on our cars is the worst part of its design. Those horizontal fins don't go with the design at all. Why they didn't just put some kind of mesh on there is beyond me. It's especially bad on black cars, because when your car's all shined up, the dull GRAY grill stands out like a cheap sore thumb. Adding more plastic fins only adds to the problem. Just my opinion.

However, I don't really think I've seen many custom or aftermarket grilles that look better. A couple people have done custom ones that look pretty good, but a lot of them end up looking cheap and homemade. And I think the CA billet ones are pretty gross too. At least for a Cobalt. Maybe not on an Escalade or a truck or something. Again, just my opinion.

And as for the person saying that the SS/na grille will protect the radiator, how does horizontal slats with 1/2"-1" openings stop rocks/debris from going through it? Maybe the big stuff, but even then, I don't think that cheap plastic is going to stop something bigger than the gaps of the fins.

Still waiting on the chassis shop to get started, which he said was to be early this week.
I did get a lot of goodies this past week such as, the dry sump kit, the upgraded T56 parts, and the new "marconova's", and some areospace modules and compacitors for cooling and the TT's setup.
Bench testing starts this week on the new intercooler and the TT switching.
An update should be up late this week with new pics.
