Dont know what I broke, but I know I broke something

Snapped something in or on the tranny. I was at the track on wednesday and everything was going fine until the way home, i went to drop into second gear and it was gone, fourth was hanging on by a thread but the car was still driveable in it. Later on i find out reverse is also shot, however gears 1,3, and 5 are perfectly fine. I figured maybe i snapped a shifter linkage due to the fact that i have the B&M shifter and people say if you shift hard with the B&M chances are you might break a shifter linkage. Well i took the shifter assembly apart last night and no broken linkage, i cant figure out what it is. I also believe that my CM FX400 had something to do with this, for some reason the clutch doesnt like to release easily above 7K RPMS, when i shift when im racing is shift slightly above 7K, like as soon as the needle crosses the 7 and ive notice that its a bitch to get it in and out of gear when shifting quickly, hence every once in a while, usually at the track ill grind the gears. I dont like this clutch at all, im thinking about getting an Exedy.

I actually broke something in the tranny too and its at the dealership now as we speak, covered under warranty, I think alot of the voided warranties has to do with prejudice service managers hating on "tuner high-school" kids..I bet people on here would get better results if they tried to look as old as possible, not dress like an "in-fashion" high-school kid, or if possible have their dad bring it in and act like its his car or something...I brought my car in wearing my work uniform so I didnt look too young( I'm 28, but sometimes I look like 22 or something) because I didnt want the Service Manager to think I was a young punk that broke the cobalt by speed shifting it down the track or something...

Ohhhh, I don't know, but possibly the CM FX400 will give away the fact that you have modded a thing or two.

I think you mean "they shouldn't say"
With the new clutch in there they may very like call "abuse" and void the tranny that way.
Let us know how it works out for you.

do you not have the mods listed in your sig?? if so they can void all drivetrain warranty from just your pulley alone. I know its a completly diff. car but they void the warr. on my buddys wrx because it didnt have cats and it was also a blown tranny. good luck to ya.

they cant do that there is such this as the magnuson moss act, unless they can directly prove that X(aftermarket part) was the reason Y(part of the car) broke then they cant do anything about it.

if you have no reverse I wouldn;t bet on the syncros, being that there isn't one for reverse, just my $0.02

djt81185 had the same problem, he told me that it was the shifter cable. Tomorrow im removing the fuse box and manually putting it in gear and seeing if it will grab. If it goes into gear manually then i know its the shifter cable and nothing wrong with the tranny.
