Cheap tires for SS/SC needed

Does anyone in Edmonton know of a place to buy the cheapest tires possible for the SS/SC? GM dealerships are asking $320/tire for the Pirelli's that come stock with the car. I've checked the internet but that size of tire is really uncommon and hard to find. My front tires are bald after only 3 months and I really don't want to be spending over $600 every 3 months on tires...... I guess I could just try not to spin my tires but that would be no fun.

On a sidenote, I just installed an after market exhaust and my gas mileage went from an average of 10.8L/100km to 8.9L/100km. A fairly cheap way to get an extra 70-100km/tank and with these insane gas prices not a bad investment.

I was looking in Calgary but could not find anything reasonable. You could order them from 1010 tires out of BC.

The bald tires have already caused me problems with the dealership trying to get warranty work on my car. Both of my axel seals were leaking and they told me it was due to excessive wheel hop but after lots of bitching I still got it done under warranty.

Don't know about availability in Canada, but I've had great luck with Falken, which are reasonable, and Hankook, which can be downright cheap (relatively speaking).

Thanks, that is a great price but being a different size I would probably have to buy 4 new tires so I really wouldn't be saving much. I really wish the Cobalt came with 17" rims like the Redline.

so go on there and get your size silly :P

the reason i went with 225, is theres far more options at that size, and better traction is always nice

theres some exact OEM size ones.
but they are more expensive.

Hey did you paint your stock rims yourself? They look great I would love to have that done, even though I hate copying other peoples cars

If your willing to pay, you should check out some powdercoating shops and see what they can do for you....they would naturally do a better job than I can hehe
I remember one guy got his done all flat black for like $80 a rim or somethin.

If you have no luck with that, and your really serious about it, shoot me a PM sometime.

Another question for you since I see yours has been removed, how do you get that ugly oversized chevy emblam of the trunk without ruining the paint?

I fully agree. I wrote a great review for a Neon site when they were on my Neon ACR. They worked better in snow here in Denver than any all season I had tried.

That would be great to get tires that are good in the snow as well cause the stock tires really suck ass in the snow

you should definately buy all season if your driving in the winter.
or buy summers, and then buy some steelies and good quality winter tires like most people do with these things.

Driving summer tires in alberta winter is friggin irresponsible.

Oh I planned to buy winter tires but if I could get good all season tires I would rather do that. I bought my car at the end of January and just getting through a few months of shitty weather was a complete bitch with the stock tires.
