When do cobalt SS trannys explode?
i did it once its takes it driving it has hard as you can and sticking in 3rd gear while doing 120+ yeah it was dumb i know but i beat the EVO lol it was reparied under chevy bumper to bumper it was going and it was a bran new car with olny 4,000 miles when the tranny went

The killer, besides driver error, is at about 330tq. I am told the horsepower isn't to bad but the tq is very hard on some of the weaker parts such as the cast iron input shaft.
Ah, thank you. yeah torque is a tranny killer. those immediate 12psi downshifts make transmissions hate life im sure. Cast iron input? Ouch, any aftermarkets availiable for that yet?

That being said, it hasn't been tested above 280 so it may actually break.
That was a lot less confusing in my head, but what I'm trying to say is that it won't necessarily snap at 281 lb-ft, but don't be surprised if it does either.
Well, I've broke 2 third gears so far so I would say arount 270-280ish wtq. My torque numbers are almost identical to my HP numbers, so that is probably my issue. I'm in the process of aquiring parts and doing a slight beefing up, so I'll keep everyone posted how a mildly beefed up tranny holds up.
