Problems And More Problems Any One Else With The Same Ones?

I Took My Car To The Dealer Today To Get Some Stuff Fixed Before My Warranty Runs Out: Rough Idle, Front End Rattle At Low Speeds, Hesitate When Cold, Etc. The Guy Calls Me Back And Tells Me They Are Going To Have To Keep It A While. Here's The List: Front Struts Leaking, Valve Cover Gasket (oil Leak), Intermediate Steering Shaft, Something Else, And They Said That They Didn't Know Why It Would Hesitate And Rough Idle/misfire, But When I Gave Them Tsb #'s 3644 And 3433 They Told Me That It Would Mean Having To Take The Head Off And Clean Each Valve Manually, Anyone Else Had These Problems? By The Way They Had To Order The Parts.

The steering shaft issue is well known, no biggie. The leaking struts was a good warranty catch. New ones for free! How do you have access to TSB publications? Which ones are those? I don't know of any that require head removal.

Honestly you aren't having that many problems. I have complied with most existing TSB's, and compared to other Cobalts, I have fewer total service visits.

I've done the TSB's for:
Steering column
Water deflector passenger side windshield
sunroof trim
door trim
A/C evap water leak
Cluster reflash for brake MIL
ECM reflash for software update

And under warranty, I've
had the engine mount replaced
had the front brakes replaced (which I have since replaced again)
had the heater core replaced (which sucked ass)

Yea I thought about getting an SS but it was a little pricey for what I wanted, I just wanted something to get back and forth to work.

I thought the same thing. Got an s-10 I think it was made one of the other days, I can't make it sto running; 2.8, 276,000 miles, and haven't even replaced the clutch yet.

I found a list of tsb's on here somewhere the other day don't remember where but I got it saved in favorites at home I'll post the link when I get off of work later today.

Got my car back today, no more clunking noise, and it rides great with the new struts. Don't know about the cold hesitation it was 100 degrees when I picked it up.

The TSB for removing the head was to remove valve deposits caused by cold running and poor fuel quality, GM instructs removal of the head and soaking of the valves in top engine cleaner to remove any contamination, most dealers would just use an induction cleaner to accomplish the same type of thing.

OK thanks, I was wondering why they had to pull the head.
