Turn Signals

Yeah yeah, I know I should just go out to my car and check, but quick question. Are the bulbs for our front turn signals clear or orange tinted? I know we have that amber plate in front of the blubs so I'm assuming the stock bulbs are clear, but I'm thinking of removing that and replacing them with amber bulbs. Or are the bulbs in there already orange/amber?

If you have amber lenses the bulbs are clear. 07 SS/SC headlights do not have an amber lense and their bulbs are amber.

Have you had to replace your Silverstars yet? Another guy posted that he's replaced them 3 times already....I tried a set from e-bay and had one BLOW out the first day.

On ebay i found chrome bulbs that glow amber, the said that you have to pop out the orange lenses, and then the chrome bulb will glow amber when used.

Those are the ones I tried in my 07 SC headlights (in my LS) -- had to change the bulbs because one blew the first day. the entire inside burned up not just a single filament. I see the silverstars are available at Autozone (and they're made by Silvania) but I read a post where the owner has already had to replace them -- I don't want to constantly remove/reinstall my headlight pods!

I got the Silverstar Ultras for the headlights and regular Silverstar turn signals. I haven't had to change them in over a year now. You have to handle them carefully, use some latex gloves and DON'T touch the bulb with your fingers. The oil from your skin will make them hotter and burn them out quicker.
