SS/SC vs SRT-4!!!

Well me and my dad made the trip down to DE to help my cousin fix her garage door. I figured I would take the Coby down to see what kind of mpg I could get on the highway, plus I love to drive it . Well we get off the turnpike and start heading down towards Downingtown and I see this red SRT-4 in front of me. He keeps reving it up, looked stock, sounded stock, never heard a bov. I figured, hell, I'd love to run this thing, never had. My dad being a kick ass car guy, was like lets see what it has ha ha. Before the action got interesting, there was actually a black SS/SC behind me at a light, we were all in line, but the SS actually turned off, has a fucked up right front corner panel. Anyhow, we got beside eachother goin about 60, we got even, nailed it. I took of in 3rd and he pulled to where my bumper was pretty much at his door. At this time I thought ****, I'm gonna get beat and I haven't lost to anything yet. Well we ran till the end of 3rd and I regained the lost ground, hit 4th and I had about the lead on him he had on me. We shut down about 130. So I pretty much had a half a carish on him by the time we shut down. He got off the exit and gave me a thumbs up, I thought that was nice of him. Not too shabby I guess concidering my dad weights 250+.

Comments now please.

bump

nothing... anything...

Yeah I was pretty happy. If it was completely stock I thought I would have walked from him a lot easier. We did have a bunch of tools in the trunk (to fix her garage), I would say atleast 50ish lbs, plus my dad being a... big guy. We actually were racing uphill pretty much too. I think if we would have been going slower so I could have been in 2nd I don't think he would have pulled at all. All in all, I was happy and got my first srt-4 kill.

Nice 1!! Most srt4 owners I know are cocky bastards and don't want to admit when they lose. It's nice to know that there are some cool ones out there. Good Kill!

Are you stock?(nevermind just saw your signature, took a while to load for some reason)

I've raced many srt's and have beat all but a couple. You should've done way better especially if he was stock. at a 60 mph you should have down shifted to second, we can get up to 80 in second gear. That's why he pulled on you, don't let that happen again man! GOOD KILL THOUGH

I have all those mods but I have the stage 3 pulley on. I didn't even think about going to 2nd. Shoulda. Oh well, it was a good run. I was happy and my dad was just like "God damn this thing is fast, I never knew it was that fast.." haha, I got a kick out of that. He's awesome. Then he was like well there goes our good fuel mileage but it was damn worth it.

Thanks for the comments and rep. Yeah it was fun. Maybe something will come up on the way home tomorrow afternoon. I wonder if that black SS is a member on here. I didn't see it very long but to tell he had different wheels, a big stuff on the passenger fender, and two people in it.

I have always herd that but every one that I meet seem to be pretty cool and end up swapping info on each others cars.

I had a little run in with a red srt4 when I was in CA and I was stock. We started at about 40 and I pulled him by over a car up until 110-115mph and then right when we had to shut down due to traffic he was starting to gain some ground. When I hit my breaks I was only up by about half a car..

Awesome. He may have not been stock, no way for me to really tell. It sounded/looked like the exhaust was stock but that doesn't mean he didn't do anything at all. I think the 300 extra lbs I was carrying and not going to 2nd played a big role. Yeah I was surprised he gave the thumbs up when he got off. I thought he would have been the usual cocky bastard but he seemed cool as hell. I guess the black SS that was behind us before we ran isn't a member on here.

The guy you raced may have been stock and the 3rd gear start really killed you at the start. When I raced the srt4 in CA and I was moving back to WA and it was me and my wife and were loaded to the brim with all of our stuff(trunk and back seat to the sealing).

Yeah, excellent kill man!!!!! Major kudos, just next time make sure you are in 2nd gear and you would have stomped the living **** out of him!!!!! I pull on LS1's from a 50-55 roll, so you should do MAJOR damage to just an srt. But my compliments and keep the racing going sir!

Haha thanks. I thought 2nd only got us up to about 75ish so I figured from the speed we were going 3rd was good. My bad. Coming back I we ran into a silver Z06, god damn are those things nice. He pulled out and just took off like a bat out of hell and he probably wasn't even getting on it. Saw a yellow Lambo too. It is crazy down there compared to the boonies up here in PA where I live ha ha. It was a fun trip. Now I want to run a WRX. A kid at work has one. Cockiest ************ you would ever meet. AWD this.. AWD that. He has a 3" turbo back, short shifter, maybe a little tuning here and there maybe, thats it. He thinks its tough ****. 120k+ miles on it, 2nd stock turbo already, he beats the **** out of it. I tried to get him to go up to the track next month when me and my buddies go but he of course said... "drag racing is not my thing". But awd is soooo awesome launching. What a puss. I just want to beat him to shut him up.

Well that is good to hear. I hope I get to run him sometime. I would be the first to admit if you have a better car, period. I am not one to be cocky at all. He is just so annoying sometimes.
