hydraulic clutch slave distribution block

i was almost done with doing a clutch swap, without a single problem. until the hydraulic clutch slave distribution block, shown on page 20 of chapter 5 of the lsj build book, broke. i have a 2004 redline, but am over an hours drive from a saturn dealership. is this part the same on a redline as on a ss/sc. i think it is but i want to make sure before i order one.

Here in canada the Ion does not have the bleeder nipple but the Cobalt does. I do not think that this would be a problem getting one from GM for you redline as they look the same. Sorry but I do not know what the part number is.

so i got the part from a chevy dealership finally. and the new hydraulic clutch slave distribution block(or elbow as gm calls it) wont go on either. when i push down on it, it just will not clip on and pops off. does anybody have any info into why? i need all of the help that i can get from you guys. the dealership will not give me any info. thanks

did you put the little black cup (page 91) back on and seated properly on the hydrolic line on top of the trani before you tried butting the block on. It is one of the tips in the trani manual you discribe in the original post. This could be the problem but I am not sure. Also, are you using a new C-clip or the old one. If you are using the old one make sure you bend it back to the original shape as some times they get stretched and will not clip properly.

My parts catalog is showing the same part number for the cobalts and the saturn ions that have the MU3 optioned trannys. Was yours this number?

i tried to install the distribution block again, i noticed the slot that the clip seats in on the nipple on the bell housing was flush with the mounting surface. not about a 1/8th of an inch above it that it needs to be so the clip in the distribution block can seat in it to lock the block into place. i then noticed that the nipple on the bell housing can lift up. to do that i had to use a screwdriver to lift it. when lifted it seemed to stay lifted. so i tried to mount the distribution block again. the clip would seat in the slot on the nipple, but with little force it would come back off. so i think that the plastic surrounding the nipple is damaged from using the screwdriver to lift it. what i am not sure of is the nipple supposed to move up and down or not? can i replace the nipple or the plastic part surrounding it? if so how do i? thanks for the help.

Super dead thread bump, just wanting to see how it's supposed to sit on the little nipple on top of the tranny... It seems like it's too loose when I put it on and takes little force to take off, but I hear the c clip click on so I'm just wondering how tight the block is supposed to be on the nipple! Thanks guys
